Why a Franna?
A Franna is an articulated pick-and-carry crane. It steers through the middle, so it turns tight, and it can lift and drive with the load at the same time. For most site work there are no outriggers to set, which means less time setting up and less space taken.
That makes a Franna the fastest way to unload trucks, place steel and precast, move plant around a yard or work along a long site. When the job needs more reach or more capacity at radius, we will tell you and send a slew crane instead.

Questions
Common questions
How much can a 25 tonne Franna actually lift?
A 25 t Franna lifts its full rating only close in, with the boom short and the load straight ahead. Capacity drops as the boom extends and the load moves out or to the side. Do your Frannas come with an operator?
Yes. Every Franna is wet hired with one of our own experienced operators. We can add doggers or riggers when the lift needs them.
What is the difference between a Franna and a slew crane?
A Franna is built to pick up and carry, and is quick to set up. A slew crane sets up on outriggers and rotates its boom through 360 degrees, which gives far more reach and capacity at radius. See Franna vs slew crane.
Can I see the load charts?
Yes. Each Franna has its load chart on its fleet page, and we are happy to talk you through it.
Do you hire Frannas outside Brisbane?
Yes. We work across South East Queensland, including Logan, Ipswich, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast, and our Wagga Wagga depot covers the Riverina.
