200 tonne class | Brisbane and SEQ

200t crane hire Brisbane

Our 200 tonne crane is the Liebherr LTM 1200-5.1, with 72 m of telescopic boom for heavy and high lifts. It is based at our Wagga Wagga depot and travels to Brisbane for planned lifts, with an operator and in-house lift planning.

Planned lifts, from a crane that travels

The straight answer first: our 200 t LTM 1200-5.1 is based at our Wagga Wagga depot, not in Brisbane. Cranes and crews move between our two depots when a job needs them, so we send it north for planned lifts in Brisbane and South East Queensland, with our own prime movers carrying the counterweight.

If your lift has to start soon, ask about the cranes that are based in Brisbane. The 150 t Grove GMK5150L and one of our 230 t Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1s work from Tingalpa, and one of them may suit the job as well.

With 72 m of telescopic boom on five axles, the LTM 1200-5.1 is built for lifts that are heavy and high.

Typical work

What a 200 t crane lifts

High lifts over buildings

72 m of telescopic boom puts plant and steel over and onto tall structures.

Large precast and structural elements

Heavy panels, beams and steel assemblies, to a lift plan.

Bridge and civil works

Girders and beams for bridges and road works.

Plant and process equipment

Vessels, tanks and heavy machinery for industrial sites and shutdowns.

Energy projects

Transformers and equipment for substations and energy plants.

Planned heavy lifts

For lifts with a long lead time, the crane, counterweight and permits are planned together.

Planned in-house

Lifts that travel are planned further ahead

  • A lift study, lift plan and SWMS issued ahead of the works
  • Counterweight and rigging moved on our own prime movers and low loaders
  • Road permits for the crane and counterweight, where needed

Where it sits

Is this the right size?

In Brisbane, timing matters as well as size. The 150 t and one 230 t crane are already at our Tingalpa yard. The 200 t sits between them, and is the right size when the load and radius need more than the 150 t but not the full 230 t.

What to send us

Four things let us size the crane and quote. Photos help with all of them.

01

The load

Its weight including rigging gear and any spreader beam, its size and its lifting points.

02

The reach and height

Radius and height, with the start and end points marked on a photo or site plan.

03

The site

Address, ground conditions, space for a five-axle crane and outriggers, and how the crane and counterweight get in.

04

The date

When you need it. The crane travels from Wagga Wagga, so call early with your dates.

Questions

200t crane hire in Brisbane

Is your 200 t crane based in Brisbane?

No. Our LTM 1200-5.1 is based at our Wagga Wagga depot. Cranes move between our depots when a job needs them, so it can travel to Brisbane for planned lifts. Our 150 t Grove and one of our 230 t Liebherrs are based at Tingalpa.

How far ahead should I book a 200 t crane in Brisbane?

As early as you can. A 200 t lift usually needs a site visit, a lift study and transport permits, and the crane has to be brought up from Wagga Wagga. Call us to start the planning.

Can a Brisbane-based crane do my lift instead?

Often. Depending on the load and radius, the 150 t GMK5150L or the 230 t LTM 1230-5.1 may cover it from Tingalpa. Send us the load, the radius and the height and we will check the charts. See 150t crane hire and 250t class crane hire.

What can a 200 t crane lift?

Up to its rating close in. Capacity falls as the boom extends, so it lifts much less at full reach. Send us the load and the radius and we will check the chart. See How to read a crane load chart.

Does the crane come with an operator, riggers and lift supervision?

Yes. Every Superior crane is hired with an experienced operator, and we supply qualified riggers, doggers and accredited lift supervisors when the lift needs them.

How much does 200t crane hire cost in Brisbane?

It depends on the hours, the crew, any permits and how the crane has to be set up. Most jobs have a minimum hire. Send us the details for a fixed, itemised quote.

“Lincoln and crew are prompt and professional. ... They put our mind at ease and got everything set up, made sure they had all the necessary information from the vendors and took steps to mitigate potential mishaps. Everything went smoothly in the end and we couldn't be happier.”
