A 250 t search, a 230 t crane
If you are searching for 250 t crane hire, the nearest crane in our fleet is the Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1. Its manufacturer's rating is 230 t, so that is the number we use. A lift plan only works with the true number, and we would rather tell you straight than round it up.
We run four LTM 1230-5.1s across our two depots: one based in Brisbane and three in Wagga Wagga. With a 75 m boom on five axles it is the strongest five-axle class in our fleet.
If your lift needs more than 230 t, the next size up is our 350 t Liebherr LTM 1350-6.1. See heavy lift cranes for the whole range.

Is this the right size?
Rated capacity is a ceiling, not a promise at every radius. If the 230 t chart does not cover your load at your radius, the 350 t is the next step up.

What to send us
Four things let us size the crane and quote. Photos help with all of them.
01
The load
Its weight including rigging gear and any spreader beam, its size and its lifting points. Drawings help.
02
The reach and height
How far the load must go out from the crane and how high, with the start and end points marked on a site plan or photo.
03
The site and ground
Address, ground bearing, space for outriggers and counterweight, and how a five-axle crane gets in. A site visit is often the right start for a heavy lift.
04
The date and permits
When you need it, and any road closure or shutdown window. Transport permits for the crane and counterweight can take time, so call early.
Questions
250t class crane hire in Brisbane
Do you have a 250 t crane?
Not one rated at 250 t. Our largest five-axle crane is the Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1, rated 230 t, and our largest crane is the 350 t LTM 1350-6.1. We quote every crane at its true rating.
What can a 230 t crane lift?
Up to 230 t close in. At longer radius the chart allows much less. Send us the load, the radius and the height and we will check the chart before we quote. See How to read a crane load chart.
Where are your 230 t cranes based?
We run four LTM 1230-5.1s: one at our Tingalpa yard in Brisbane and three at our Wagga Wagga depot. Cranes move between depots when a job needs them.
Do I need a bigger crane than 230 t?
Only if the chart says so. Many heavy lifts are covered by the 230 t, and the 350 t LTM 1350-6.1 is there when they are not. See heavy lift cranes.
Does a heavy lift need permits?
Often. The crane and its counterweight may need road transport permits, and setting up on a road needs a council permit. We tell you what applies and can arrange it. Allow lead time.
How much does 250t class crane hire cost in Brisbane?
It depends on the hours, the crew, any permits and how the crane has to be set up. Most jobs have a minimum hire. Send us the details for a fixed, itemised quote.
